PEDIATRICIANS WANTS TO PUT STUDENTS IN SCHOOL ON A PILL TO BOST THIER ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE !

Attention Disorder or Not, Pills to Help in School
By ALAN SCHWARZ

A pediatrician from GA, named Dr. Michael Anderson wants to put kids on a very strong medicine called Adderall. Dr. Michael Anderson wanted to prescribe to the students with true problems like students with low-income and struggling in school. But there are some real problems with doing this.
The article includes quotes from people who had an opinion. "Jacquelin William said "people who are getting A's and B's, I won’t give it to them," he said and what he is saying is some student might take abuse of the stimulant and students that have higher grades might use the drug to boost their academic performance.

I think that it is a good thing that teaches and doctors are very wary about the kids to boost their academic performance so that they are prepared for school with lots on energy, but I think it’s not a good thing for students to be on drugs because it might escalate to something bigger like to other drugs. What do you think about this situation?

STUDIES FIND MORE STUDENTS CHEATING, WITH HIGH ACHIEVERS NO EXCEPTIONS

Studies find more students cheating, with high achievers no exceptions, because a large-scale of cheating has been uncover over the last year at some of the nations most competitive schools. studies find that some students behavior and attitudes show that a majority of the students cheat integrity to some degrees. And studies say that high achievers are just likely to do it as well as everyone else.

" There have always been struggling students who cheat to survive, but more and more, there are students at the top who cheat to succeed." said Donald L. Mccabe, a professor at Rutgers Business School, the leading researcher on cheating. Internet access has made cheating easier, enabling students to connect instantly with answers, friends to consult and workers to copy.

This article make me think are students really clueless on about what goes on school and college that they have to cheat to get to high success. I am a teenage, and i know right from wrong and i think that cheating is wrong, but only when your in college, because lots of people usallly cheat when they are in high school but still do i think it is the right thing to do no.

CURFEW FORCED ON TEENS TO FIGHT AGINIST CRIME IN EAST ST. LOUIS

Louis Mayor Alvin Parks says a recent crimes, including the murders of four young people, is reason enough to impose tough new curfews and a dress code to fight teen violence.

The curfew law was forced October 1, 1012. And the law was stating that Minors are to be off the streets at ten o’clock on both weeknights and weekend nights. Minors on the street during school hours will be arrested on sight. Police will also perform I.D. checks on street corners and conduct gun searches, and Parks says he won’t hesitate to call in the National Guard if the spike in violence continues. And the dress code was, no royal blue, no bright red to be worn by our men or our boys in this community.

In my opinion i think that this is a good law to force curfew on teen to fight against crime, but then again i think its not so good because one of the laws says something about the dress code and how people dress, i think that it should be up to people to dress the way they want in any color.

This article really made me think, is the murder rate in East St. Louis really high that they have to force a law on teens to come in the house at a certeint time, and dress in no royal blue, no bright red? Do people in East St. Louis feel safe at home? maybe it would be interesting finding out what young adults, teens and parents think about this

IS TEXTING REALLY A PROBLEM FOR TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS

" it's a huge issue, and its everywhere," said Deborah Yager, a high school chemistry teacher in Castro Valley. In the article "texting may be taking a toll" by Katie Hafner study find that American teenagers send and receive an average of 2,272 text messages per month in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to the Nielsen Company. So how many text messages do you think goes out in a year with the new technolgy of this year ?

When this problem about texting to much started physicians and psychologist began to worry about the teens who over text in a day, about it leading to anxiety, distraction in school, failing grades, repetitive stress injury in hands and sleep deprivation.

Physicians and  Psychologist began to worry on teen who over text because it is leading to distraction in school and failling of grades because students are texting in school and after school when they schould be using that time to study. And they do it at night and makes the effect there sleep.

Teacher are offen warry on what students are doing in class but some teachers say they don't see when texting in class happens. some teachers say when its happening i not going to take my time every day and take each students phones. Some parents don't know that student are up after midnight texting and they won't know because students are being sneaky and putting there phones on vibrate waiting for there phones to light up to relp to the text.

In my opinion I thnk that students should limit there texting hours durring school time.

If you were a parent of an teenagers or young adults would you limit the amount of time that they are on the phone? If so what would you limit the time to and why?
